The right side The wrong side
This is one of my favorite tricks! I mentioned this trick in my blog about my black and white guest room. I used it on the headboard. Now I’ll show you how I used this idea for my shower curtain. When I found this fabric I loved the pattern. The color was perfect but too saturated for what I wanted. I was looking for a more “worn” and textured look. By flipping it over I discovered the perfect “Reyn Spooner” shirt fabric!
To make the curtain, cut two lengths of fabric the length you need plus 4 inches for header and hem. Sew the pieces together to make it about 1 1/2 times the width of the tub opening.
I sewed the rectangle myself and had my upholsterer add the grommets for the hangers. I found a water resistant liner and added that to the inside. Voila! A custom shower curtain. I found the rings at Target! Target has a great assortment of ring styles. I used 4 different kinds! I found the fabric and fringe down town in the fabric district for about $7.00 and $1.00 a yard. The hooked rug and rings are at Target! Shower tiles are Crema Marfil one of my favorites because it’s pretty, versatile but mostly because it’s really cheap! About $4.00 a square foot! Bllue Mexican accent tiles are about $2.00 each. I use color and accents very sparingly!
My kids wanted in on the bathroom beautification so I did the same thing in each one using the colors of their respective bedrooms.
All three ring styles found at Target!
